Abstract
There is no single diagnostic test in the diagnosis process of inflammatory bowel diseases. The diagnosis is clarified through the combined evaluation of medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, imaging, and pathology. While the combined assessment of these diagnostic methods increases diagnostic accuracy, it also allows for the evaluation of other pathologies that may accompany inflammatory bowel disease and need to be considered in differential diagnosis. In most cases of inflammatory bowel diseases, the diagnosis can be made based on medical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, endoscopic biopsies, and pathological evaluation. However, in complicated cases, methods requiring more expertise, such as double-balloon enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy, may need to be included in the diagnostic process.
